What are some of the side effects of valium in dogs?
My dog has epilepsy and is being treated by a homeopathic doctor. On Wednesday night he had a severe cluster of seizures and we took him to an animal hospital. They put him on an iv of valium and said he had to stay overnight. We now have him home and he is acting paranoid, he jumps at every sound… he also seems to act like he doesn’t know where he is because he locates the sound, goes up to it and sniffs, and then licks. Is this a normal reaction to the valium, and if so how long should it last?

id simply take the dog to a real med qualified vet as Valium is 1 a very addictive substance and i would never give it to a dog. you should never give a dog anything not approved by a vet it can harm the dog…. In some cases…. kill it!
In all the time i have had dogs i have never heard of one being given . Valium before .And 2. a question springs to mind….. Ever heard of withdrawl symptoms? you say your vet is a homeopathic vet since when has valium been used by a homeopath valium is a chemicaly made tranquilisor
