do valium and xanax show up the same on a probation urine drug screen?

just wanting to make sure of this. I have RX to xanax, but I used to be prescribed to valium. Less than a year ago my Dr switched my Rx to xanax.

Chosen Answer:

It could. One time I had diarrhea real bad from food poisoning and I got a prescription for an antibiotic and something to relax my intestines and the pharmacist at walgreens told me it was something that would show up on a drug test and my pharmacist warned me to let someone know I had a prescription for that if I took a drug test and save the bottle for proof because it would test positive. I would think it would be best to inform your probation officer and you might need to explain what it is taken for, and don’t bring them a bottle that’s unusually empty, for example I often will split prescription refills into old bottles and keep some in my purse and one bottle at home for my blood pressure pills because if I forget to take them at home they are on me or if I stay the night somewhere unexpectedly I have them, and when I am at home they are in the open so I see it and I might remember “hey I forgot to take this” this is not recommended as it will cause suspicion you are abusing the drug.

It depends on the test, but probably not. If you have the bottles for both drugs with your name on them, it doesn’t matter.
