If you have questions about the procedure talk to the vet when you go in. That’s the best way to know what’s going on.

call back and ask for specifics. Its kind of silly to second guess your vet on this one. If you have no confidence in them, find another one that will give you the information you need.

Valium is one of the most common premedicants given to dogs. They will give it in injectable form, not as a pill, so they can be sure he gets exactly the right dose. It also works faster that way. The dosage is 0.25-1.0mg/pound, so your dog could get up to 2mg.

diazapam (valium) is given by weight. the exact weight of your dog will be obtained when you check him in. the valium is a pre anesthetic use to calm your pet before the procedure. no worries vets do this on a daily basis all over the world. you are being responsible as a pet owner by having him neutered. hope this helps

Okay take a deep breathe and another. You vet will know exactly how much medication to give to your Yorkie, Don’t worry hun, Vets become Vets because they love animals.
Yorkies are adorable a couple of my friends have them in their families and they are wonderful little dogs.
You sound like a very loving and responsible pet owner. That is wonderful for you and your baby doggie.

Dogs are always given a sedative when they go in for an operation. It helps them relax and makes the anasthetic easier. They know what they are doing and do it everyday. When you drop him off the first thing the nurse will do is weight him so they know just how much to give him. and then give hm the sedative. It is natural to worry when a pet goes in for an operation all pet owners do but neutering is a routine op they do everyday.
