What are some natural ways to deal with insomnia and anxiety?
I been awake for 3 days. When I finally feel sleepy I end up with anxiety and just lay there for hours. I refuse to take anymore anti anxiety, insomnia meds.
Chosen Answer:
1. Cold Showers: Start off with a comfortable water temperature. Gradually decrease the water temperature. After a few minutes, gradually increase the water temperature back to a comfortable temperature. Take one to two showers like this a day for several weeks to several months.
2. Internal Niacinamide (vitamin B3): Take 100 to 750 mg of vitamin B3 mixed in water. It can also be taken in divided doses of 250 mg of vitamin B3 four times throughout the day. Users have safely been able to take up to two to three grams of B3 a day (high doses may cause nausea). Vitamin B3 can cause a reduction in anxiety within 30 minutes.
3. Lavender Oil (mild effect) or Narcissus Oil (stronger effect) Aromatherapy (reduces depression and anxiety): Apply either or both oils to a cotton ball or tissue and smell and/or freshen the room (in excess can cause sleepiness).
Also avoid caffeine in coffee, soft drinks and chocolate.
Try to burn up the excess adrenaline exercising or playing a sport.
Also try to take a warm bath before sleep.
Perhaps some soft music or some people like to here the white noise sound. Some stores sell white noise sound generators.
Some people also are able to sleep when they wear earplugs.

Chamomile is a great sedative, and Kava root helps with stress relief. You can make a tea or infusion out of them. You can also buy ready-made herbal tea bags. Good luck.

Essential oils can help you address the emotional and physical components of anxiety and insomnia. Oils help us manage our anxiety and stress during the day so we can sleep better as well!
We can consider oils that are used for both conditions. Lavender and Peace & Calming Blend come to mind immediately and they are great for home remedies for sleep and anxiety. They can be used during the day and before you go to bed.
Put the oils on your feet before bed, smell them and put a drop or two on your pillow. Oils can also be diffused in your room while you sleep!
Another suggestion is using an essential oil supplement called Sleep Essence. This contains many of the oils listed above plus melatonin. I only take this when I really need a full 8 hours of sleep. This may be a good place to start especially if you haven’t had any sleep in three days!
The link below will give you some more tips; and there is a link in the text to the supplement as well!

Thats a tough deal that I can relate to myself. I used to have anxiety so bad that when it was finally time to go to bed I laid awake most the night. Then the following day I would be so darn tired that the anxiety would come back and i would repeat the cycle. In a word it sucked.
I turned to herbs like Valerian, Ashwagandha, L-Theanine, and 5- Trypto. They helped me calm down during the day so I could get back into my normal sleep patterns. It worked for me anyway.
