Is anxiety considered a mental need for scholarships?

Under the college I am applying scholarships for, they ask if I have any mental needs and to please specify. Recently I was diagnosed with anxiety and have been starting the course of lexapro. I know I’m just starting, but the drug makes me feel weird and I don’t necessarily like the effects at all. It must kick in so I understand, but I am considering reevaluation of my defect to see if it may be ADHD. Either way are these considered mental needs?

Chosen Answer:

I don’t think that’s the mental need that they are referring to. However, I think you should seek treatment and guidance from doctors when taking these antidepressants. Some, like Paxil, produce seriously harmful side effects such as suicidal behavior and birth defects. If you’d like to know more about it, you can check this

No, if that were the case every college student would list it. Everyone has anxiety in college.
