Bromazepam is a derivative of a group of drugs called benzodiazepines, used for anxiety, insomnia, and alcohol withdrawal. It’s not available in the U.S. as it’s potentially more addictive than traditional benzos.

Valium is also a benzo derivative, available in the U.S., used for the same plus may have an anti-seizure, anti-psychotic, and antidepressant effect. Valium carries the same risks as other benzodiazepines but may not be as potentially harmful.

The two drugs are very similar in structure but vary ever so slightly.
